North Dakota Administrative Code

North Dakota’s laws, called statutes, are enacted by the state legislature.  Statutes tend to be broad in nature and do not contain a great deal of specific information.  To further define the requirements contained in statutes, government agencies can create administrative rules.  Administrative rules are contained in the North Dakota Administrative Code (NDAC).  Administrative rules are enforceable just like statutes and registrants are required to comply with the requirements in the NDAC.  The different parts of the NDAC are separated by chapters and a numbering system.  In this set of laws, chapters are referred to as Titles.  The chapter of the NDAC assigned to Professional Engineers and Professional Land Surveyors is Title 28.  The online version of NDAC Title 28 is located on the North Dakota government web site.
