Enforcement Report

To better protect the public, the board office has contracted with Tom Little, P.E., and Greg Johnson, P.L.S., to perform compliance checks for the board. They report to the board any businesses and individuals that are performing work in ND but are not registered with the ND State Board of Registration for Professional Engineers and Professional Land Surveyors.

Businesses need to be registered with the ND Secretary of State’s office and the ND State Board of Registration for Professional Engineers and Land Surveyors in order to perform any kind of work in North Dakota. Professional Engineers and Professional Land Surveyors who are performing work in ND need to be registered with the ND State Board of Registration for Professional Engineers and Land Surveyors as well.

We do appreciate the cooperation of the city, county, federal and state in sending us information on businesses and individuals who are performing any kind of engineering and land surveying work in the state. Once the board receives this information, the board enters all of the data into a sharable enforcement database.

Coming in 2013, all businesses that have registered with the Secretary of State and have indicated their primary business as Engineering or Land Surveying but have not registered with the board will be listed under the “Unlicensed Firms” menu item, located under the “Public” tab on the homepage. Additionally, all firms that have registered an individual with the board but not their company will be listed here.
