1.) Successful completion of a Board approved Fundamentals of Surveying (FS) exam, this requirement cannot be waived by the Board.
2.) Successful completion of a Board approved Principles and Practice of Surveying (PS) exam, this requirement cannot be waived by the Board.
3.) Minimum of eight years of qualifying surveying experience of character and satisfactory to the Board.

North Dakota offers two options in applying for your LS.
Examination – for all individuals who are seeking their initial registration and do NOT hold a license in another jurisdiction.
Endorsement – for all individuals seeking registration and hold a valid license in another jurisdiction.
All applications without an NCEES Record require:
1.) Completed application form
2.) Copy of a Land Survey Monument Record (Corner Record) form you worked on
3.) Completed work experience record form
4.) Five references that are NOT family members or members of our Board
5.) If applicable, official copies of your transcripts
6.) Verification of exams and license

1.) All applications must be fully filled out, this means do not leave any applicable sections blank. Your application must be typed. Hand written or illegible applications will not be accepted and will be returned.
2.) Payments must accompany your application, you can pay by check, money order, or by credit card using the link above. Applications without payment or payment information will not be processed and will be returned to the sender.
2.) Copies of transcripts, verification forms, and all reference letters must be mailed to the Board office from your universities , state Boards, and references. We will NOT accept these documents from the applicant under any circumstances.
